Beukelaer became the first European politician to accept paychecks in Bitcoin 6

Europe got its first politicians, who decided to accept his salary all in Bitcoin.

The wave among Politician to accept salaries in Bitcoin was started for the first time during the wave of the US Mayoral election in Q4 2021. Around three US Politicians pledged to accept their few or partial salaries in Bitcoin. However it was a bitter truth that the decision was totally a political point of view because it was a decision to grab more political support to remain in power, but overall it is giving full confidence to the Bitcoin and crypto community to remain hopeful with this industry in long term with better rules, regulation, and policies.

Christophe De Beukelaer, the Brussels member of parliament, became the first European politician to go with Bitcoin support by converting salary into Bitcoin.

The average monthly salary of Beukelaer is EUR 5,500. He will convert his salary in Bitcoin totally with the help of the crypto platform Bit4You.

Beukelaer is representing Humanist Democratic Centre (CDH) party and with this decision, they aimed to push this bitcoin wave interest among the other Lawmakers and politicians to support the crypto industry.

Beukelaer appreciated the move of the New York Mayor to accept salary in Bitcoin and also noted that US Politicians are supporting bitcoin to make their local States hub of Bitcoin.

European politician stated

“New York City Mayor Eric Adams has spent three months collecting his Bitcoin salary to make New York the Bitcoin hub. I think it is not too late for Brussels and Belgium to play a leading role in the cryptocurrency industry.”

No doubt that Bitcoin is doing much better in this world and also it is getting support but there are no laws in existence that can help a person to accept a salary in Bitcoin. In absence of any rules to accept a salary in Bitcoin, the majority of the people are facing huge tax costs to support Bitcoin in this way.
